Attack Type System

Every skill in Jujutsu Shenanigans belongs to one of five attack types: Melee (close-range strikes and grabs), Bullet (projectiles like Piercing Blood), Explosion (area blasts like Supernova), Swarm (multi-hit bugs like Roach Swarm), and Domain (domain expansion effects).

The 10-counter system defines which moves beat which attack types during neutral exchanges. Blocking does not substitute for type advantage — some types break block, others ignore it entirely.

How Counters Work

When your attack type counters the opponent's current attack type, your move wins the exchange — dealing full damage while theirs whiffs or gets interrupted. When countered, your move loses — you take damage and enter hitstun.

Example: landing Honored One Reversal Red (Explosion) against Blood Manipulator Piercing Blood (Bullet) depends on the specific counter mapping. Use the interactive chart below to look up exact matchups during study sessions.

Style Attack Type Reference

Honored One: Lapse Blue (Melee pull), Reversal Red (Explosion push). Blood Manipulator: Piercing Blood (Bullet), Supernova (Explosion). Black Death: Roach Swarm (Swarm), Festering Strikes (Melee). Ten Shadows: Divine Dogs (Melee/Swarm hybrid depending on summon). Perfection: Idle Transfiguration (Melee, unblockable).

Domain types interact uniquely — Domain Break from Black Death awakening interrupts enemy domains regardless of standard counter tables.

Using This Tool in Fights

Memorize counters for your main Style's three worst matchups rather than the entire table. Honored One mains: learn counters against Blood Manipulator Bullet spam and Perfection unblockable Melee. Vessel mains: learn counters against True Cannon Explosion beams.

During fights, read opponent habits rather than calculating types in real-time. If they spam Piercing Blood, you know to use your Bullet counter move preemptively.
